We just released "Hard Rock Falls," the first single from our upcoming LP Pardon the Solar Interruption! Take a listen to this tune here and if you want to hear the two B-sides head over to MySpace! 7/21/08 Hey Rockers! Come catch the SPB at Fort Reno on August 7th and at the Velvet Lounge on Saturday, August 9th! We're also happy to report that we've cut the basic tracks for the final four tunes on our record. J. is currently overdubbing the guitars, keys and vocals - it won't be long now! 4/17/08 Pop Fans - The Onion in DC ran a nice little album preview on our work in progress! "J. Forté's been busy the past few years. After a great solo debut, Secret Pop, in 2006, he helped Lejeune on its eloquent sophomore effort, For Club And Country, last year. In 2008, he's combined the two, taking the name of his solo album and members of Lejeune to form Secret Pop Band, preparing to release its full-length debut later this spring. Early cuts are lo-fi guilty pleasures, combining the best power-pop elements from Secret Pop tracks such as "Analyze" and "Purple Clouds, Dark Skies" with hook-and-harmony focus for tracks like For Club And Country's "Your Serene Saturday Night." 3/25/08 Mark your calendars friends - we're rockin Iota on Friday, May 23rd! 3/4/08 Greetings! We posted two brand new cuts from our upcoming LP over on our Myspace site - please check em' out - if you like catchy tunes! 1/10/08 Happy New Year Rockers! We've been out of the public eye for a little bit, but we've been busy! Our new record is about half-completed, and we should be able to finish it up over the next few months - it's gonna' be sweet. We're working on new material - so count on some new tunes in the mix. 4/5/07 Dear Poppers- A cool lil' Web site called Palebear reviewed a couple of Secret Pop MP3s - they like em'!: "Psst. Here is some secret pop music, so secret, I guess that the album is actually called "Secret Pop." All kidding aside, this is a delicious energy bomb of a song by J. Forte....Mr. Forte offers up some delicious pop in the vein of Silver Scooter, Subset and Beulah (I’ve definitely heard of ‘EM). Maybe a bit of Magnetic Fields and Matthew Sweet in there as well. Come Back Now Baby is also a great energetic track." as 3/5/07 Hey Rockers - Ear Candy digs Secret Pop: "Former Ape House frontman J. Forte's debut album offers up a heaping helping of power pop. Twelve hook infested songs for the working stiff who dreams of a rock 'n' roll lifestyle. Forte' brings to mind other popsters like Redd Kross, Matthew Sweet, the Jesus and Mary Chain and the like. The opening riff of "Strum And Sustain" reminds me of a song by the Manic Street Preachers titled "Damn Dog". Some of you might remember it from the 1980 flick Times Square. Favorite track: "Strum and Sustain". 2/14/07 Dear pop fans - Come catch our first show of 2007 at the venerable Velvet Lounge on Friday, March 2nd!
